Touch Grassroots Field Day

Touch Grassroots Field-Day

Saturday, April 4 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Eisenhower Park

1488 Eisenhower Dr, Augusta, GA 30904, Augusta, GA 30904

We'll have food, games, and comradery to build connection across our various grassroots organizations. With a growing world of oligarchy and special interest groups dominating political lobbying, it's important that we support each other and work for the true needs of our mutual community. We hope to share ideas, find common ground, and move towards a better CSRA for everyone.

This is a kid friendly event as it will be hosted at a park, however we can not provide dedicated childcare supervision.

We hope you can find time to join us Saturday, April 4th! If you plan to come, we encourage but don't require that you bring a side dish or non alcoholic beverages. Please specify if you have allergies and/or what you are bringing if you plan to do so.

Graphic that says "Touch Grassroots Field Day" in a variety of colorful fonts. A small flag with the word "inaugural" is featured in the top right corner.

Who Wins The Prize? Protest For Transparency

Mayor Andre Dickens is hosting a private “State of Business” dinner on March 18th to host the corporations that are profiting off our communities.

Atlanta is projected to generate $1 BILLION in revenue — yet only $4 million is estimated to reach Atlanta residents. Most people don’t know this is happening. Most people aren’t angry enough yet.

GAVU, Ind ATL, Tim Franzen, Play Fair ATL, and 50501 Georgia are protesting right outside that dinner at 1280 Peachtree Street to demand answers: Where is this money actually going?

We’d love your support — all we ask is:

📲 Amplify on your socials

🙌 Bring 5-10 people

The people of Atlanta deserve to know the truth, and our city’s leaders need to feel the pressure. See you in the streets.

Vigil - Love and Rage Is On: Not One More

⁨Community Vigil for Alex Pretti

Please join us this Thursday, January 29th at 7:00 PM at Virginia-Highland Church as we gather in community to honor Alex Pretti, who was killed at the hands of ICE on January 24.

This vigil is a space to grieve, to remember, and to hold one another as we reflect on the growing number of lives lost or forever changed by ICE. We refuse to let these names disappear. We come together to say them out loud, to witness, and to care for one another in the midst of loss.

During the vigil, there will be a live painting of Alex Pretti, created in real time as part of the service. We will also hold a reading of the names of those killed by ICE, honoring each life with intention, including the names of Keith Porter and Heber Sanchez.

Community Estrella will be creating an ofrenda (memorial altar), and attendees are invited to bring a sacred item: a photo, flower, note, or object to place on the altar in remembrance. Flameless candles will be available but in limited quantities to use during the vigil. We encourage you to bring your own.

Come as you are. Let’s be together in remembrance and solidarity. Limited street parking will be available along with parking at Virginia-Highland Elementary, carpooling is recommended. Please allow yourself time to find parking.

Rally For Reproductive Justice

Will do!

Palmetto State Abortion Fund is organizing a Rally for Reproductive Justice at the South Carolina Statehouse (south side) on Tuesday, November 18th.

At 2:00 p.m., the Senate Medical Affairs Subcommittee will reconvene to debate S.323, the extreme abortion ban currently under consideration. During this hearing, legislators will discuss amendments and vote on whether to move the bill forward. While public testimony will not be heard, the public is allowed to be present — and we intend to make sure they see and feel the power of our collective voice.

This rally is our chance to show lawmakers that South Carolinians overwhelmingly oppose this dangerous and deeply unpopular bill. Together, we’ll stand for reproductive freedom, bodily autonomy, and the right to make private medical decisions without government interference.

Event Schedule:

Setup: 10:00 a.m.

Rally Start: 1:00 p.m.

Speaking Program: 3:00–4:00 p.m.

Rally Ends: 5:00 p.m.

Exit by: 6:00 p.m.
