What is the Candidate of Distinction Questionnaire?

In a time when the core principles of our democracy are under attack, we want to know what candidates running for office are going to do to uphold the rule of law and restore democratic values.

This is a non-partisan and fundamental test of commitment to the most basic governing principles that our democracy was founded on: Defending Constitutional Rights. Commitment to Democratic Process. Belief in System of Law. Countering Authoritarianism. Truth in Public Discourse and Decision Making.

This carefully curated set of questions will showcase candidates’ commitment to these values in a variety of contexts that people are deeply concerned about and allow them to share their unique perspective on each topic.

While we will not be endorsing candidates, we will be highlighting their responses to the Questionnaire and hold them accountable. The CDQ addresses a critical dimension in choosing who will get your vote, but we encourage you to learn where candidates stand on other issues as you make this important choice.
